The V-Class people mover from Mercedes-Benz is designed to offer the ultimate in space and flexibility in a rapidly-growing market.
With its generous standard equipment and class-leading safety features, the V-Class can carry up to seven people and their luggage. Each seat has its own inertia reel seat belt and the second row of seats can be swivelled round to allow passengers to travel conference style facing each other, even while on the move.
The seats can also be folded or easily removed altogether to give a huge amount of interior space. A folding table between the seats is standard on all models.
Despite its huge interior, the V-Class is 15 centimetres shorter than an E-Class estate, and only seven centimetres wider. It is easy to drive and fits in a normal garage.
In March 1999 all V-Class models received enhancements to both the interior and exterior with no increase in price. The V220 CDI model was also added to the range. Externally, the most obvious changes are a new-style radiator grille, while sills, bumpers and door handles painted in body colour. A black anodised metal strip integrated into the window frame, together with a new range of colours, completes the exterior changes.
