Combining dynamic performance with go-anywhere versatility, the seven-seater Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is the performance flagship of both the GLS-Class range and the comprehensive Mercedes-Benz SUV line-up.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is powered by a 5,461 cc biturbo direct-injection V8 engine, which generates 585 hp at 5,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque, which remains constant from 1,750 to 5,250 rpm. As with all AMG engines, the powerplant is hand assembled by a single AMG engineer. Driving through a dynamic AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic Plus transmission with ECO start/stop as standard, the ML 63 AMG will sprint to 62 mph in just 4.6, and onto a 155 mph electronically limited top speed, while delivering exceptional mid-range punch. Combined economy and CO2 emission figures are 23.0 mpg and 288 g/km.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63’s V8 biturbo engine produces its exceptional levels of performance, economy and low emissions through an innovative combination of high-tech features. These include spray-guided direct-injection, twin turbo-chargers, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air/water intercooling, alternator management and a weight-optimised AMG sports exhaust with chromed double twin tailpipes that contribute to the engine’s engaging soundtrack.

The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is available with a full gamut of the latest Mercedes-Benz passive and active safety features and telematics options. Nine airbags are standard along with Attention Assist to monitor the alertness of the driver, Collision Prevention Assist; Trailer Stability Assist; Crosswind Assist, Pre-Safe anticipatory safety system and Active Bonnet, which provides better protection for pedestrians in a collision. Further standard safety features include Anti-lock Braking System with Brake Assist and ESP Electronic Stability Programme.
It is fitted with an intelligent electronic four-wheel-drive 4MATIC system, backed up by ESP, 4ETS Four-Wheel Electronic Traction System and ASR control systems. The 4MATIC system features a 45:55 torque split between the front and rear axles and a multi-disc limited-slip centre differential, which can shift torque 70:30 between the axles as road conditions dictate. The vehicles off-road ability is enhanced by its Downhill Speed Regulation system that operates up to 11 mph. A button-activated off-road function modifies the mapping of the engine, transmission and safety systems for more demanding off-road work.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 features seven full-sized seats in a 2-3-2 arrangement. Both second and third row seats fold into the loadbay floor; the second row is split one-third-two-thirds, while the third row is split in half for excellent load-carrying versatility. There’s a maximum load length of 2.0-metres, while luggage capacity varies from 295 litres with all seats in place, to 2,300 litres will all rear seats folded flat.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 has a length x width x height of 5,162 x 2,141 x 1,850 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. It weighs 2,580 kg, and can pull a 3,290 kg braked trailer, or a trailer of 750 kg unbraked.
